                                 Chapter Two

                      The Trip Begins

"So how long will it take?"
"Eight hours max"
                         Alex was driving the car.Sanjay was sitting next to him. PS was reading a book in the back with a silent Suhail.The car belonged to Sanjay. It was a rusty little car which his father gave him as a present. But Sanjay took care of the thing like a pet.

PS:"I wish our road trip was longer you know....like one or two days long like in movies....hanging out in weird places....chilling out....meeting new people...."

Suhail:"Like in the movie 'Road Trip'!!! right?"

PS:"Hell yes...."

Suhail:"Just shut up and read the book"

PS:"What's the matter with you?"

Suhail:"Nothing"

PS:"There is something.....You didn't want me to come to this trip did you?

Suhail:"What....What are you talking about?"

Sanjay:"Hey both of you  stop"
          :"So what made you change your mind?"The question was directed toward Alex.

Alex    :"You cant go to a trip without me. One of the rules remember?"

Sanjay:"Thanks for coming"
          :"Look man I know that I haven't talked to you about the whole 'Anne' situation it's not because i have ignored it, it's just that...."

Alex:"I dont want to talk about this"

Sanjay:"Cool"

PS:"Hey Sanju, Can I drive the car for a while"

Sanjay:"No"

PS:"Why not?"

Sanjay:"Let me think....hmmmmmmmm...You dont know how to drive....I think that reason would   suffice..."

PS:"I have a driver's license...How else am I going to learn ......Please"

Sanjay:"This car is like family...sorry man cant risk it"

Alex:"Come on Sanju...let him drive for a while"

Sanjay:"Ok only when we get to a place where there is less traffic.......Then we will think about it"

Alex:"So when are we going to have breakfast"

Sanjay:"It's eight now..One hour more and we will reach Chalakudi town....We can have it then"
                  ****************************
"Appam and egg curry"
"i will have the same thing"
"Chappathi and beef curry"
"You are having beef for breakfast"
"What is wrong with that?"
                          They were in Hotel Sughand ordering food. Suhail was the one who ordered beef.

Sanjay:"It's too early to eat meat, don't you think?"

Suhail:"I don't believe this.. I know you don't eat meat..But why do you get all uncomfortable when someone else is eating it"

Sanjay:"May be it's because it came from a living breathing animal"

Alex:"Here we go again"

Suhail:"So what about them, they have ordered eggs"

PS:"May be it's because eggs don't breathe"

Suhail:"You stay out of this Mister"

Sanjay:"It's because it doesn't involve murdering and bloodshed"

Suhail:"Do you think plants don't having feelings...Some scientists believe so..Tell him PS"

PS:"Actually Suhail that theory has not been proven yet...and studies say that......"

Suhail:"You stay out of this Mister"

Alex:"Guys stop this...It's a public place"

Sanjay:"Ok...Hey where did the waiter go"

Alex:"Waiter doesn't have to wait through that whole pile of crap..He fled  somewhere around 'bloodshed'

   "Hey Guys
   "Hi!"

      That was Sneha and Neha. The beautiful twins of the class. Very Smart, very studious. PS was the only real friend for them among the boys.

Sanjay:"What are you guys doing here?"

Sneha:"We live just across the street. Mom is sick..So we thought we will buy some parcel.....Both of us are  really lazy when it comes to cooking"

Neha:"So why are you here?'

Sanjay :"We having this trip to my village, Ponmudi"

Sneha:"Oh I   have heard about that place...It's really beautiful.."

Neha:"Hi Prabha....."

PS:"Hi Neha"

Neha:"I thought you didn't like to take trips"

PS:"No No I do this..I do this all the time you know.....It's good you know.....taking trips.....having fun.....you know"

Neha:"So you guys coming to Anne's  engagement right?"

Sanjay:"Engagement , yeah...next Sunday right?....We will be back on Saturday..So  yeah sure we will be there"
                                 
                     Mere mention of the girl's name made Alex motionless for a while.

Sneha:"So guys , come down to our place after you have breakfast...It's the light blue house just across the street..Mom will be happy to meet you.."

Suhail:"Yeah but..."

Sneha:"Oh come on.....and Prabha you have to come...We   talk   about you all the time to our mother.....She  knows everything about you,,,"

Neha:"Hey how was the exam..."

PS:"Well it was ok...even though some of the problems were tough   and that question about signal flow graph......."

Neha:"Yeah what was that??" 

PS:"I know............

 Suhail:"Dude"

  PS:but who cares?"

Neha :"Ok so you guys have your breakfast...and come fast .....Please do come.........."

Sneha:"Oh there should have been a dog with you guys..."

PS:"Then it would  have been Famous Five!!!"

Sneha:"Yeah!!"
PS:"I was telling them  the exact same thing!!!"

Neha:"Ok so we will go now...Do come ok"

Suhail:"Marry her"

PS:"Which one"

Suhail:"Doesn't matter...They are perfect for you"

Sanjay:"And what's with the whole Prabha thing?"

PS:"They like to call me Prabha....So what?"

Sanjay:"It's a girl's name,"

Ps:"It's a sign of affection....."

Sanjay:"Whatever?"

PS:"Oh I know  ....you are jealous aren't you?"

Sanjay:"Jealous about what?"

PS:"You were known to be this Lady's man.....But you couldn't get through to the twins...You tried but you couldn't....They preferred my friendship over yours..The nerdy geeky guy became best friends with the Twins and you cannot take it...It kills you....."

Sanjay:"Come on that is so stupid!!!!"

Alex:"Is it true?"

Suhail:"I think it's true....He always wanted to win the twins"

Sanjay:"Shut up"

PS:"Did you guys notice the way they said "Prabha has to come"...

Suahil:"Yes I did....I think something is going on..."

PS:"What?"
Sanjay:"Yeah what?"

Suhail:"I think one of them is in to you.....They want you to meet their mother....It's a big step.....They talk about you the whole time......These are real strong signs..."

PS:"What signs?"

Suhail:"That they want to accept you as family.....I'm never wrong when it comes to relationships..."

PS:"How come you never had a girlfriend?"

Suhail:"Let's keep our focus on you shall we? I'm right aboout this , ALex?"

Alex:"Totally....this is it.....something is going to change today...."

Sanjay:"Bullshit!!!"

PS:"Stay out of this you Jealous Jellyfish!!!!I think they are right.....Now when I think about it There has been signs all over the place this four years...I guess I didn't take advantage as I was a gentleman..."

Sanjay:"Dont get your hopes raised nerdy weirdo"

Alex:"Ok stop the girl talk and let's find it out straight away"

Suhail:"Yeah Let's march to the light blue house across the street"

Neha:"Hey come on in"

Sneha:"This is our mom Veena"

Veena:"Hello"

Sneha:"Mom this is Suhail, Sanjay, ALex...and this is our Prabha"

Veena:"Oh so you are Prabha....Both of them  talk about you all the time...."

PS:"Hello Aunty How are you feeling now?

Veena:"It's just a fever......So what are your future plans...?

PS:"Iam placed in this IT company Apex Solutions...So..."

Veena:"Oh yes I forgot ....Neha is also placed there....That would be so nice..Neha will have a brother to look after her all the time...Right girls ......"

Sneha:"As I told you Mom talking to Prabha is like               talking to your sister or something...!"
                   ****************************
Suhail:Well I was right...They wanted to make you family...."

PS:"Shut up"

Alex:"I  didn't get why she said sister...."

PS:"Shut up"

Sanjeev:"Guys keep quiet....Iam living that moment over and over again in  my head.......Here comes the sister part ..Hahahahaaaaaaaaaa"

PS:"Just shut up and drive the car....."

Alex:"Do you think that's why they called you Prabha...."
PS:"SHUTUPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
