A very lazy lazy writer here.
Another two of my comic characters (hence the girl's weird name. A friend came up with it years ago, because she had spikey hair.)

Spikey was sitting on the broad window still with a mug of hot chocolate and a magazine. Rain spattered against the glass, and she watched the rush-hour three floors below. Lines of cars were waiting for the traffic light, bicycles squeezed past them, sometimes coming dangerously close to the canal.
The view was one of the few advantages of this worn down room. The street was never boring.
Her entertainment was disturbed by the beep of her cellphone. She picked it up and looked at the display. An unfamiliar number, and a long one too.
" Hello."
" Spikey?"
She felt how her heart became cold and heavy. She had recognized the voice, but tried to sound as calm as possible.
" Yes..."
A long pause.
" Don't you recognize my voice?"
" Bjorn?"
" Uhuh."
" So. Why do you call me?"
" I wanted to know how you were doing."
" I'm fine."
Wanted to know how she was? What did he expect her to say? That she had cried until her eyes were bloodred, that she hadn hardly eaten for days after he had left, and gotten totally pissed on her first night out?

" Glad to hear that. You know, I... I'm, well... Sorry."
" About what?"
" Well, I said some things I shouldn't have said."
" So you did."
" Well, that's all realy."
" Oh."
Another pause.

" Don't you want to know how I am?"
" Not realy no."
She had thought of him for months, asked herself what he would be doing, what he ate, what he was wearing, if he cried about her too, if he had met another girl.

" I miss you."
" Oh."
" Realy Spikey, I think I made a mistake. I... Think I still love you."
She sighed.

" Sorry Bjorn... But that love is overdue. Byebye."

Like this, love the bit where he goes 'don't you want to know how i am?' Sounds like he was quite mean to her...

Anyhoo, a good closure story.

Clever way to fit into the Lazy Writers theme. Well done.
Nice vignette.

Yes a good read, saying lots but not in words leaving the reader to work things out.

I thought this was good too. Simple straight forward story, and lucky, Spikey was able to say no, rather going in for more of the same, most likely.

Thanks Lizzy and Jean.
I realy hadn't expected such positive reviews, as it was written in a very short time. I'm very glad it worked though :) I should write "lazy writers" pieces more often I guess.

A sweet little story. I like the name Spikey, it gives an immediate idea of what she looked like.
A bit more emotional conflict might have added to the drama - will she/ won't she go back to him.
She definitely made the right decision

A nice little moment. You mentioned comic character so i was expecting heroics but guess even heroes have lives.

The only line that tripped me up, which was probably just in your translation was: "She felt how her heart became cold and heavy."

I am no expert but this doesn't work in English. Maybe: "Her heart grew cold and heavy", just a thought.

Liked the imagery of looking down on the street. In my minds eye I saw the whole thing as a comic, bit like the animation sequence in Kill Bill, she looking like an anime female.

Good stuff.

Thanks Asferthecat and Johnnie ;)
Asferthecat: well, as I intend some drama, who knows what mistakes she'll make?

Johnie: Thanks. I'll change it soon. I don't think they'll have super-hero powers, but who knows... ;)
