Where shall I go to be gone so far?
Not in plane, nor ship, nor in the fastest car.
What takes me even beyond this planet?
Could a speedy cheeta or a buffalo chance it?
Does the snail carry his house to that somewhere,
It can run like the wind or be big as a bear?
Now I've always been fond of the kangaroo,
For how far it can spring without even a shoe.
But I doubt it can jump where I want to be.
Nor a whale swim to there, though it swim the whole sea!
Not a bird flying high, not a mole in the ground.
Nor an insect so small ever has found.
The place I can see when I close my eyes tight.
I open my mind and let it take flight!

Hi M
this piece really does say everything I like about writing, I hope it inspires many young writers.
One small point, I would use 'To' or 'I' to start the last line. 'And' just doesn't look or sound right.

Thanks john O. I think you are right about the last line!

I agree with John above, but I notice that you haven't changed the last line. It would be much better. Well written. Children would like it.
