Everything I Couldn't Lose
By LilGryphMaster
11 August 2005
This just kind of slipped out of my mind one day.

Because I was a coward,
She was the letter I couldn't write
She was the flower I couldn't pick;
She was the answer I couldn't give.

Because I was stupid,
She was the door I couldn't open;
She was the car I couldn't start;
She was the promise I couldn't keep;.

Because I screwed up,
She was the water I couldn't drink
She was the food I couldn't eat;
She was the life I couldn't live.

Because I was weak,
She was everything I couldn't lose,
But did.

But at least you did not throw her away!

Succinct, and to the point
Pie.

A very good piece, the use of repetition really drums the content into you. It's also blunt and to the point. :)

Another great one! I'm truly getting the connection...but the feelings in your poems come across strongly and that's great.
