Canvasses

Inspired by a radio interview with Steven Campbell, an extraordinary artist who died last week.

Mind canvasses

Some come postage stamp small

though even these can take a daub

of chosen colour

or thumbnail sketch

by miniaturist

Some come studio wide

A frightening prospect

to find ideas to fill

the extent of whiteness

But your's came landscape sized

in a 1:1 scale

no artist can fill

Space

for the whole world

to come in

as is
