you are a rose

you are a rose
blackened by corruption,
the sweet smell of death
assaults my senses
with every smile you give.

liked the sense appeal, but rose is cliche as metaphor;

with "every smile you give" sounds limp;
could it be re-written as this:
with "every bloom in sight"

hows it going, mai?
Thanks

Thanks Uche for your comments, things are going ok thanks, I am going to Northen Afghanistan at the end of the monthy working with a French Aid Agency called ACTED, I will be working as the Logistics/ Security Officer on a prog they have going in Fayrab Province, very isolated, extreamly poor part of the country but I worked for them before in the same area so got a good idea what to expect.
apart from that not a lot going on, how about you mate, how are things in the Delta??, strange ,I have never been to Nigeria yet have worked in/visited several countrys in the region.

Take Care Uche.
