July, Long Lost
By andybyers
27 August 2007
One sultry July night, long ago. :)

So late that
    TV's gone to bed,
       I roam the house
          to find instead
that freedom reigns:
    no job, no school
       no waking mind
          to set a rule

       but mine.
       How fine

a thing it is:
    the darkness heard
       the silence seen
          the voiceless word
and in the street,
    with none to see,
       the moon eclipses
          just for me.

A rare moment captured. How often do we find the peace to really feel?

Enjoyed.

Very nice.

Like everything about this - the mood, the pattern, the rhythm and rhyme.

A fine wee poem.

Oli :)
