Fat cats get double cream and trebles all round

FTSE 100 directors, collectively, now earn over £1,000,000,000, one billion pounds per annum.
A 37% rise over last year.
Gosh, they must be really, really hard working and valuable people - NOT!

The annual city performance league tables have once again demonstrated what a powerhouse of financial acumen the modern British economy is. The FTSE 100 directors are once again leading the charge for top pay and reward by trampling on their underlings in a truly efficient business environment.
Felix Felix, CEO of Adipose Cats International, defended these latest round of inflation busting wage rises.
"If UK directors do not make obscenely large amounts of money for five days solid work then UK PLC risks trying to emulate the absolutely gross example of Premiership football players who only work for one and a half hours a week. Responsible CEOs and fellow directors are clearly the right role models for our McJob workers, we work a full week and get a fair years salary for it. If any worker thinks they deserve a similar salary then they only have to join the right golf club and defraud the Inland Revenue, its a free country for anyone who can sell it."
The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, praised their financial prudence in holding their workers pay rises to under 4%, but stressed that to achieve parity with China they should squeeze these over generous and inflationary wage deals to less than 1%, and preferably -2%.

Enjoyed this very much - almost savage in its humour.

Good stuff.

I sense a bit of anger mixed in with the humour and all the better for it. I liked the way you threw subtlety out the window and went for the jugular. The subject called for it,I think
Good Work

Yes, it gets my goat

Hi Phil, Jane
I do get very 'excited' when I see such disproportionate rewards being handed out, especially when I don't get the same !!!
And as for that Gordon Brooon fellah.......
I'll stop now and just leave you laughing.

'Adipose Cats International' is a gem. Yes, quite savage indeed. Mutiple targets, all downed with glee. Great stuff.
I could ask 'What's wrong with Gordon Brooon?' but have a feeling you would write a book which would only be matched in it's savagery by a pride of lions descending on a downed antelope. :grin
Excellent work, John_O.
Cheers.

Straight to the point, John_O... and probably the right approach. Even when the company collapses the directors seem to end up getting a sufficient payout for a beach house in the Caymans.
Northern on the rocks

Hi Jimbo, Coosh
it will be enlightening to see how much the directors of Northern Rock romp away with when the company gets broken up....
What is wrong with Gordon Brooon ? Ask those poor souls whose final salary pension schemes were wound up because the big G took a 'windfall' slice of their funds not so very long ago. Or alternatively ask those public servants who are seeing their salaries cut in real terms because he claims they are driving up inflation.
First against the wall when the revolution comes.
