Numb
By onlyhattie
04 September 2007
Okay I haven't written a poem in literally months.

This is my latest effort. I actually wrote this during my lunch break at work.

Hope u like it.

My mind is a mess

Empty of all rational and coherent thought
Filled with words
and numbers
and colours
and shapes

The patterns still form in my mind
But I no longer know what they mean

My thoughts are jumbled

The words don't match
The shapes don't rhyme
The numbers don't fit
The colours don't add up

It doesn't make sense anymore
Once upon a time it did
But no more

I am jumbled

I can't think
Can't write
Can't create

I am numb

I don't mean to be rude but the subject to me was very boring indeed to the reader. If you can't think, can't write and can't create, may I politely ask why you are writing anything?

i really like this. i like its simplicity. i find the subject very interesting, so i would have to dissagree with the above comment. this confused state of mind is very human, so to me it is just as worthy of epression as any other subject.

I fall between the two reviews above. A perfectly legitimate theme to write on, but I found it hard to connect. The beginning of this pulled me in well enough, but the style of the ending kind of disconnected me. That probably doesn't make a great deal of sense to you, but it does to me!
