cool white plying blue
warm blue carving grey from green

I'm guessing Northhumber is a coastal location.  
 
Haikus often confound me - I liked this one, particularly carving grey from green. Not sure the last line reveals more for the reader to layer the meaning. One where you 'had to be there' perhaps. Certainly adnired the first two lines.
