is the stars in the sky,
shovel-thick,
spread over the blacktop of eternity

A little like a haiku in delivery. Could be me, but have you tried reading line 4, then 3,2,1? Makes more sense to me that way! Not a crit, just an observation. Liked it. 
 
'Shaded' was beyond me. Sorry.
