The story of missing child Madeleine McCann took a dramatic turn today when a spokesperson for her parents released the following statement:

"We are not at all concerned about our daughter's whereabouts.  She was always exceptionaly good at playing hide and seek"

I hope you've got a hard-hat to hand. I admire your bravery at having a go on this one. While the material is so very rich, the subject is almost untouchable in a way that having a pop at 'St' Diana was/is.  
 
Something surreal about the whole thing.

I'd never write about such a touchy topic. But just those few words made me smile, I must admit.
