The Deil can tak yer Auld Alliance!

An’ Gaul a doze o’ Scots defiance!

T’was ay tae sleekit France’s gain ,

An’ whit help did the Scots git? Nane!

Sae sup yer ain foul medicine!

An’ watch ye ilka Scotsman grin,

Frae lug tae lug the hail warld ower,

An’ ilka Frenchman’s froggy glower!

Viera, Thuram and Henri,

Pit ilk tae the Scots sword wi glee.

At Parc des Princes the battle’s won,

So now we’re set tae hae some fun!

An’ yin thing mair tae ease yer pain,

At least ye’ mak some fine champagne!

Pop! Pop! Pop! Votre Santé!

I haven't followed the events in the world of sports, but I do assume this is about football.... Did Scotland beat France?

The main problem of all Scotlands political allies so far has been they are on an island though. Philips II of Spain ruined the economy and the Spanish empire to avenge your queen. I guess the French are too pragmatic for something like that.
