I feel like
By dismantled

school is the most awful thing.

I feel like

I don't know my own body anymore.
I don't control anything it does.
Am I crying? Again? How peculiar.

I brushed my hair this morning...
however unnessassary it seemed.
Busy work, all of it.
Who would expect a made-up face,
and fresh breath, from a girl
whose face resembles
a swollen raspberry.
Smile? Re-teach me. The corners
of my mouth seem to have forgotten.

Am I shaking? I'm standing. That's progress
for progress' sake.  How curious.

Nothing distracts from this, only
the periodic aching in my chest
that reminds me to inhale. I wonder
how long it will be before I realize...

If i can't control my own breathing
how can I keep him out of my bed?
How can I decide if i want him
there or not?  And if I do? What happens
tomorrow?

The grapefruit sliced in half
honey drizzled, cinnamon sprinkled;
Busy work.  All of it.
It tastes bad.
I don't know what comes next.

...but very effective. I think you could really get somewhere with this. Emotional poems can be difficult, and hard to change because they encapsulate what you felt at the time, but to improve this from a writing point of view; slow it down, work through it and find what may not be entirely sensical, or just a bit awkward.

love the style though, and structure, especially the separation of "I feel like" it really works here.

well done, keep writing :)

There is a lot of good stuff in there - but it rambles a bit for the reader.

I can see enough in this to suggest that you could write good poetry. Teen/school years are sh*t for us all. Thankfully for me, they are a distant memory.

Put a smile on your "swollen rasberry" face. At least you are intelligent and articulate - something to work on. Don't let silly boys mess you up. We are a bad lot - I should know! :grin

Nothing much to add to the above comments. Wise - both.
