A Little Sacrament
By Talisker

This is a seasonal repost - but I believe it is improved it by a couple of gentle edits suggested by my very good friend and exceptional poet, Ami Kaye.

A Little Sacrament

September sun so gentle

the incense of his pipe smoke

sanctifies the garden

By the crooked greenhouse

his gnarled hands cupped

offer forth ripe tomatoes

Vaguely remember the first. I think there's more to this - at least more clearly than there was before. The whole thing works well as a whole, but I love lines two and three.
