Old Age
By halina
19 September 2007

Growing older
day by day
your hair turns from black
to silvery grey

Looking in the mirror
and feeling depressed
stopping in the street
and having a rest

But getting older
has an advantage too
there is always an excuse
for going to the loo

Looking in the mirror

Hello Halina and welcome to GW. I'm not so sure that getting older is cause for depression. There are so many advantages, and for me TIME is the greatest. I never had time to write poems before, no time to choose the days to go out walking, and I never had my little grandchildren when I was younger. Look at the time and emotional energy you save not falling in and out of love! ha ha. Going to the zoo is better, and I like to go to Loro Parque Zoo in Tenerife every February. How nice to have time to sit in the sun in February. We'll see you there. No, you must write a more optimistic poem. ha ha
