Aside all others

He would sleep
at water's edge
with its lapping waves
    his blanket
the watching trees
    his guardians
and roaming moon
    his nightlight

All natural
All willing
He would always
    pray for mercy
    hold fire in his mind
    in hopes to warm
        his future

Visual!

I found this poem very visual. Reading it felt like I was watching him sleep and dream of warmth! You're a great writer Andy, I've enjoyed every poem of yours I have read so far!

Enjoyed this. As above, very visual - on one level. Also very 'inside.'

Phil.
