Mother

Today was my mother's birthday, I wrote this poem in her honor

You were sent to me

A lovely shadow of grace

Everyday you looked into my

Eyes with a deep embrace

You loved me

O how you loved me,

Every time a tear fell

You were there to

Wipe them away

You always believed in me

So many times you worried

Where was I, Who was I with?

Mother, I love you

You have given me life

I know I have been difficult

Putting you through my strife

But you will always be the first

Person connected to me

Words cant describe

What you have given to me

You are my mother, my best friend

There's something about this that I like. There are places were it is overwritten. (for my taste) You overstate the case; which, oddly, weakens your case.

Interesting you should say your mother was sent to you and not the other way around.

every mother who sees this will love it. Well done.

Not enough children express their love for their parents. In some cases it is understandable, when their parents have failed miserably, but yours has obviously been wonderful. You are very lucky.
