Love and Marriage

Goes together like an aborted miscarriage

And I don’t want to sound savage

But perhaps they should have left the car in the garage?

Love and Marriage

Makes life as exciting as over-boiled cabbage

And although the feelings can be managed

It’s lack of love that does the damage.

Love and Marriage

Emotion kept behind a barrage

To smooth time’s long and silent passage

Ensures self-esteems are cruelly ravaged.

Not happy at home then?

Raised a smile in places, but a little too much - too much bitterness and not enough humour for me.

I'm afraid that you opinion is not shared by the majority of people. The poem comes over as particularly sour and not true at all. It only applies to people whose marriages/relationships have failed and I am afraid that it didn't raise one smile for me. Sorry.
