Spinning grief

The world will keep turning
Dark winter will always be followed
By spring, the light, the hope, returned.

My life has stopped,
Frozen, and all that is left is the pain
Searing through my fractured heart.

I saw him say it, those words
Which caused the crying, the misery,
I saw my body fall to ground

And I watched as I cried and screamed,
And finally, when I was silent, I returned
Only to find that I was empty.

All I can feel is the pain
That you are free from.
You escape only to leave irony.

You have begun a life in paradise,
My life has ended and the devil is inside
My empty shell, comforting me.

The world will keep turning.
So maybe the darkness will pass
And by spring the light will have returned.

Angst filled poems rarely do for for me - and yet what fragments I have left of my scribblings from my late teens is just as angsty as this.

Spring will follow, and due to global warming, it will be hotter and sweatier. Embrace it.
