The Big Man
By maipenrai

He's the Boss
The Big Boss
no doubt that,
He's The Big Man,
He rules with a iron fist,
don't take no prisoners
The Big Man.

He rules the country like
His private turf,
no Protest in shitland,
The Big Man,
He will rip your balls off,
fry them them
in a frying pan
eat them for his tea,
all support president T

Can't get a handle on the context of this one Bernie. President T. Probably dead obvious, but I've missed it.

OK, SORRY Here we go , this is about the un-elected president for life in a small african country.

the guy runs the country like his own private estate, all positions of power are held by his extended family members.

no opposition is tolerated, those foolish enough to do so are brutally put down

its been reported that his excellency the president for life as a taste for the testicles of those foolish enough to oppose him.

in recent years vast deposits of oil and gas have been found, so much in fact that the country is now the third biggest exporter of oil in sub-saharan africa.

the west supports this regime
the people live in abject poverty and fear.

Ta Bernie. Seems like a well worn story. It'll come back to haunt us (ie. the West) in one way or another. Meanwhile, as you say, many suffer. It does strike me though, how can so many despots prosper? How do they establish their powerbase in the first place?

military coup is a good option

Which one? There are many such leaders it seems. It's a sad reality of many third world countries: They have the choice either of chaos and civil war, or a strong man who will eventually be corrupted by his power.
I don't think democracy is always the best option for a country where not everyone has enough to eat, but your proposed solution will probably solve little either: The general to take power will simply be the next dictator.
There are probably few people who could have absolute power and know how to handle it. Tolkien was right I guess, he who wears the one ring will slowly be consumed by it.
sorry
