Love?
By PerpetualShading

I don’t think I believe,

How can it be real?

This thing all these people,

Just claim to feel.

It’s just an emotion,

One we take for so much more.

It can do terrible things

Cause death or start wars.

But in the end what is it really?

Can no-one explain to me?

I think I can see clearly

It’s not all it’s built up to be.

Well: yes, no and maybe - but then that's your point.

Love?

There is "love" and there is "infatuation". There is true love and there is "brotherly" love. There is the love between parents and children and grandchildren. Has your grandparent's love for you changed? There is the notion of "being in love" and there is true love, which isn't demanding, possessing, fault-finding etc.

Human love is usually conditional and based upon how other people behave toward us. This kind of love is based upon familiarity and direct interaction. The Greek word "phileo" defines this kind,I think dogs know more about love than human beings for they accept you quite unconditionally, without any strings, rich or poor, in sickness and in health, and they will never desert you. Whilst humans - - - - - I am sure you can write a poem defining the different kinds of love.
