Written by William87 (30 comments posted) 21st October 2007 | wow, haha. That was hilarious. For a while there I thought I wasn't going to like it but then when I got to the last line I just thought it all came together somehow. /William | Written by Bottleblondesurfer (3433 comments posted) 21st October 2007 | Well, actually it could easily be ours, here. At least the one before [Blair] anyway.Brown pretends to be his own man but if he sneezed he could give Bush a colonic irrigation,if you know what I mean. So it seems we have stuff in common with Canada, gutless capitulation to America and irony Jane | As ever... Written by wltshr (338 comments posted) 22nd October 2007 | I'm with Jane on this one. How clever, to write a sketch which, with name changes, could work in so many countries. Very funny, and wonderfully pointed. Wltshr | Written by Fledermaus (3448 comments posted) 2nd November 2007 | | Indeed, what wltshr says. I remember Jaap de Hoop-Scheffer (now chaiman of NATO, but then minister of foreign affairs) visiting Colin Powell just before the invasion of Iraq. When he left the room and spoke to the press, he sounded like a copy of George Bush, not just where opinions were concerned, but even his vocabulary and way of speaking. | Written by woody44 (777 comments posted) 5th November 2007 | Nice tongue-in-cheek piece Andy, and as everyone has said, could SO be a host of other brown-lipped PMs. I think Jane is right, just how far would Brown go to uphold his so-called independance... Roger | Written by Diddi (80 comments posted) 17th March 2008 | And I thought this was just happening to us in Australia! Little Johnny Howard (exPM) not only lost Government, but he also lost his own seat! That's what Australia did - Landslide to the Labor Party. Howard's ex ministers are already bailing out, so we'll be having lots of by-elections soon. This was hilarious, I'm still chuckling. It's nice to know that others were conned. | Written by andybyers (176 comments posted) 19th March 2008 | Diddi, at least you guys have the whole Pacific as a buffer. | Written by Diddi (80 comments posted) 19th March 2008 | | Not really, Bush came to Sydney for the Asia Pacific Conference, went there for about 40 minutes, and as he wanted to play bigshot, Most of Sydney was closed down so he could ride his bike or walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge.! Most of the 'eating district' was sealed off by his security army. About 4-6 days. Sheesh! | Written by Merioneth (79 comments posted) 18th April 2008 | Well played, sir. ~Merioneth |
