Escalator Blues

in london town, you're falling down

Stand on the right
That’s what it says on the sign
I envisage your death
Want me to push you? Fine!

A Catherine Wheel spitting flesh and blood
As you splatter down the stairs
Daren’t blink as I stay focused
Want to relive your nightmare

Body bag is shut now
Free trip home upon a plane
Wish that you could talk though
Tell your friends: ”Don’t do the same”

DARK

DARK!
(My mother fell down some escalators once while she was carrying me because I was scared of escalators and after that I was just scared of my mother! True story but no blood.)

Agree, very dark. I can't go down escalators - I get vertigo for some stupid reason, but I'm fine going up them. Strange I know and it means I have to hunt for a lift or stairs to get back down, which is very annoying.

Is everyone in London in such a hurry? I do think the suggestion to 'stand on the right' is a good one, for escalators are usually broad enough and some people may for some reason be in a hurry.
Over here there was once a fierce discussion in the newspaper wether escalators were for hurried or lazy people. So perhaps London does have the solution for both.

A bit bloody, but well written and it's clear what side you're on.
