The needle and the peedle
By punchy
30 October 2007
My 4 year old came up with the title!

Why, said the Needle
To his old friend the Peedle
Why are you so blunt?

The Peedle replied
I'm not slitty eyed
And you can be pretty up front!

And where exactly is your point
The needle returned
In fact, do you have any use?

I may have no purpose
I can,t join the circus
But you with your sharp abuse!

Hark at you Mr Peedle
Are we jealous of Needle
Do you want to play with my thread?

Your so very unkind
In fact PRICK comes to mind
There's cushion, go bury your head!

Ha ha your so funny
That cushions my mummy
And if you mention my pins, you are dead!

Ahh, you're scared I suppose
I could snap of your nose
Then you'd be a tooth pick instead!  Laughing

Loved your poem Paula, but I'm not sure what a peedle is. What is it? I like the way that you've done this poem. It could give good scope for two children to do this as a performance poem. It certainly shouldn't be kept on a page. Well done!

thanks Josie, I have no idea what a peedle is my 4 year old came up with a title and asked me to write a poem about it. i think it is an object you would find in an old sewing basket that you don't know its use, there are many objects in my sewing basket that I have no knowledge of what they are for!
