The Dark
By Goddess
13 November 2007
A short, simple poem that reflects on the nature of Mankind.

The clutching fear at your heart
As an eerie noise trembles
Through a deep abyss
Of shame and deceit.

Out damned spot! out, I say!
Hell is murky and Blood will have Blood.
Man had fear - Man is fear.
The mind is a complex world that twists and turns
As the light drains from starless skies.
The skeletal hands of Charon
Beg for your money for your journey to
Hell.
