Prophetic bears
By Fledermaus
30 November 2007

An American toy company came up with the idea for a whole new brand of teddy-bears. They will start out with five prophet-bears:

Moses, Jesus, Zoroaster, Buddha and Confucius.

If the project proofs successful, Taoist, Shinto and Hindu prophets and philosophers may be added.

Some groups complained they feel left out however, because their religions are not represented...

Do they recite phrases when you squeeze their paws?

Nice idea.

That'd be fun :-) And educational too :P
A Josie Bear?

I am absolutely sure that Jesus would be over the moon to have a toy bear named after him. He loved little children. I am sure that if Mohammed's six children asked if they could call their bear by his name, he too would be delighted. I'm upset though because I haven't heard of a Josie bear. Have you?

Thanks Josie.
I'm sure they would like it. Jezus and Muhammed must have been great guys, yet some of their followers seem to prefer them as nasty and touchy men... Probably a reflection of themselves :sigh
Don't complain with me for there not being a Josie-bear, blame the imaginary company :p

I think this is a good idea - and if they had some sort of exclusive label attached, they would become designer bears, and everybody would want to collect them.

Thanks Jean. I would like them :-)
