| The Three Wise Men - A Christmas Drama-Poem for 9 children | |
| By Josie | ||||||
| 01 December 2007 | ||||||
|
This would be suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2 children. I've kept it simple, with enough small parts for 9 children. It's short enough for a classroom drama (to develop confidence in speaking across a room amongst friends); or for older children it can be part of a school concert, a carol concert or Christingle service on Christmas Eve. It is even small enough for children to do a little poetry drama for their families on Christmas day in their own homes. Simple costumes would be fun. If you like it, please tell schools or churches where you live. For parents and teachers interested in this, I have written an article on this subject: http://www.whiteheadm.co.uk/html/poems_for_christmas.html#poemsforchristmas and you can find the poem with voice recording here: http://www.whiteheadm.co.uk/html/3_wise_men.html#3wisemen 1st person and 1st wise man
“Wise men, oh, you wise men
2nd wise man
“We’ve travelled over desert sand –
“There is a reason why we’ve come
2nd person
“Travel on then with your camels
1st narrator
The three wise men, on camels
2nd angel
“For King Herod is a jealous man.
They soon arrived in Bethlehem
