Chapter 16

The walk to the cove seemed to take forever. But it couldn’t have taken too long. I walked around a curving path on the top of a cliff forming a point, the distant sound of a water fall getting clearer. When I got down to the end of the path I had my favourite view before me, To my right the sea, going out for miles, and to my left was Koruk's cove. It was a 'C' shaped cliff with water flowing in from the sea. I was stood at the bottom where a mount of rocks formed an easy scrambling route to the beach at the bottom. Directly across from me was a cave half covered by a waterfall, that cave was home to one of my more 'bigger' friends.
I climbed down to the bottom and looked out at the sea view between the two corners of the cove. I sat on one of the bigger rocks where I usually sat when I came here, I took the ring from my pocket and the necklace from my belt then levitated them onto a flat stone a few feet away, there consciousness would distract me no doubt.

I began breathing calmly and slowly then soon found myself in a state of meditation, I found my way into the mist again and I went deeper into it. I found something that I saw as a rip down my spine it looked so worn. Like ripped leather that has been dragged through mud then cleaned with a blunt knife. I thought about how I would fix this, then I decided to let instinct take over. I let a small amount of mana go into the very top of it then I converted it into a healing essence. It began to glow and I felt a numb itch at the nape of my neck. I began pouring small amounts of my mana into the top of the void. Slowly I noticed that it very slightly began to pull together. At the top, the point had become less sharp and it slowly began to heal. Satisfied I carried on doing this.
After a while I felt something warm brush my body, I brought myself back and slowly opened my eyes.
"Your broken" Koruk said. I looked at my friend, one 20 ft Crimson Dragon sat in the cave entrance his head peering out at me. His telepathic voice sounding gentle, as if I was hearing him normally. He had a golden chain with a diamond like gem set into it, around his right front ankle, the mark of the order.
"Yeah, I had an incident with a group of vampires who put me on this alter thing that drained away my energy, nearly killing me. kind of damaged my mana maker" I smiled
"That’s not what I'm referring to" Koruk was looking at me.
"Keaden is leaving; for good" I looked down "I know he doesn’t want to but... It’s what his pack demands"
"Werewolves are a confusing species, but how can you be expected to understand something that doesn’t understand itself"
"Tell me about it" I breathed out
"Wolves live in communities, packs. They work as a unit and that heirarchy is what binds them, gives them a feeling of support. Despite having a human side, werewolves also need that feeling of community, being around there own kind, living as one unit"
"I know. That’s what hurts, because I can’t give him what he needs more than anything. But don’t worry about me. That brake will fix, in time"
"You brought me gifts?" humour in his tone, I saw him looking at the relics.
"Not exactly, these are the source of our latest trouble." I levitated them, so he could see them better
 "Relics"
 "You know of them?"
"I am a Dragon of the Order and I have been around a long time, I have seen and heard things, unfortunately I don’t know much about them. I can sense a consciousness coming from them so I can recognise them through that. Our order tasked a human to research them, told him where to find some of them, and told him what we knew"
 "Corwell Valeice?"
 "Yes?"
"We found his research; I'm surprised it stayed there that long in that old house of his"
 "Hmm..."
"Well we got the Malceic from Volden, a Vampire leader," I held up the necklace "And he was killed by this one, the Kavolis" I lifted up the ring. "Apparently Kelva made this one in a past life"
 "Really... that’s interesting"
"Yep our Kel's is a reincarnated Princess" I said, I sensed humour come from him "Because of there potential for manipulation, we don’t want to keep them. We cant destroy them since the alter has been destroyed. So I wanted to give them to the order to look after" I saw a look in his eyes "Don’t worry, I know all about your dragon higher mind thing," I smiled "These were made by humans, there personalities imprinted on them. I know the order doesn’t care much for the human world and these should have little or no effect on you. If you take these to the order they should be safe, we should be safe and like I said they wont have any affect on you."
"Very well, I shall take them, whether the order will accept them I don’t know, but I will keep these from you for now"
"Thank you Koruk" I levitated them over to him and he cupped them in his left clawed hand. He backed up into his cave and returned a few moments later. "Will you also tell the Order that if I come into possession of anymore that I will bring them to you"
"Of course" he said I smiled at him. Then something pulled at my attention, I looked up toward Falvia and closed my eyes "Something wrong?"
"Its Brox, he’s stressed. Keaden is leaving."
"Hmmm.." his throat grumbled as he said it "How is your bonded?"
"He’s ok. He is going to miss him as much as I am" I wiped the moisture from my eyes. "I had better start back; I just wanted to be away from there when he went. And since I wanted to see you I thought I may as well come here."
"Very well, Its good to see you again my little friend" Another playful tone, I smiled and got up.
"See you, Kor." I turned and stared up some of the rocks. "OH... KORUK" The Dragon reappeared in his cave "Did you hear anything, did you find one?"
"Yes, West Magarda. I trust you will find him" he said
"Thanks Koruk, you’re a big help" For the first time that day I smiled, then scrambled up the rocks. When I got to the top I turned and looked down to the cave, but he was gone, or at least that’s what he wanted me to think. I crouched down and waved "I know your still watching me" I whispered, a breath of fire blazed from the cave sending condensation from the waterfall sky high, I could feel the heat of it from the opposite side of the lagoon. I let out a small laugh then set off home.

Chapter 17

I got back through the manor gates and saw Brox running toward me whimpering. He stopped looking up at me whining.
"Stop it Brox, I know he's gone" I said firmly, Brox stood looking at the gates. I carried on toward the steps, I got half way up then heard Brox' howl. I turned and saw him sat in the middle of the driveway near the gates muzzle up. The door opened and Kelva stepped out. Tears in her eyes, she needed consoling this time, I put my arms around her and held her close. I didn’t cry this time just stood there resting my head on hers looking at Brox howling.
"Want to go to Magarda?" I said, she pulled back and looked up at me. I noted the confused expression and the light mist of hope in her eyes, but I just shook my head gently. She wiped her eyes.
 "Okay"
