Christmas Valentine
By Ghost
08 December 2007

Intricate snowflakes meander
Cascading snow upon snow
Sprinkles of makeshift snowman
Content in the cold wintry blow

Flagons of warm salutation
Keep icy cold tendrils at bay
Perusing the cards of endearment
From acquaintances so far away

Butterflied  anticipation
Unrelenting denies children sleep
Perchance to catch fairytale glimpses
Of Santa in twinkle-toed creep

Neath spray of lip merging mistletoe
Two amorous hearts entwine
My first, my last, my everything
My Christmas valentine

There's a charming anticipation of all the wonders here, Ghost. The language seems pitched to capture that nostalgic feeling and works in that respect.
Maybe some punctuation? Just to assist with the flow of the read.
Couldn't help thinking of Barry (Snow) White in that penultimate line.
