Mrs Herd and Munchkin
By punchy

This one needs to lose a few lines but not sure where, please review with honesty.

Mrs Herd was a teacher of Tap, Jazz and Ballet
She ran a small school from the back of her chalet
There were many young starlets all hoping for fame
But one of them shone and munchkin her name

Munch was a star in Mrs herds eyes
In shows she was always up front , no surprise
She'd have extra classes before exams or displays
So examiners and judges would all be amazed

By her pas De cheval, her neat demi plie
Pirouette, saute and grandest grand jete
Her develope pointed up to the sky
So her ear was actually touching her thigh

Munchkin worked hard, harder than most
She never complained, nor did she boast
In fact nobody ever heard munchkin speak
Not a whimper, a whisper, a cry, or a squeak

But the adults around her in Mrs herds circle
None of them noticed that Munch wasn't vocal
All of them just wrapped up in her dancing
Her verbal ability was just wasn't advancing

Her mum and her dad they weren't any better
They'd drop her at school and then go and get her
Drop her at ballet till well after dinner
Hours of practice would make her a winner

A weekly regime that worked round her ballet
At weekend she'd sleep at Mrs herds chalet
She make her do practise from morning till night
And munchkin kept going with all of her might

She started her ballet when she was a tot
But her talent so huge it was easy to spot
Munchkin had given up trying to talk
Way back just after she'd started to walk

She'd waddle up to her mum saying goo goo
But she was too busy designing a tutu
She'd try and get her daddy to play
But he would ignore her or send or away

But if she was dancing and spinning around
They'd stop straight away for they new the sound
They'd all start to smile, then cheer and then clap
While Munchkin performed her ballet and tap

Munchkin soon learned that talking seemed pointless
But dancing was the best way to get noticed
So that's all that she did from the day she was 3
A dancer was all that munchkin could be

She carried on dancing and passing exams
And by the time she was 12 she had hundreds of fans
She'd been on TV and performed for the queen
She was a wonderful dancer the best that there's been

At 16 years old she was performing swan lake
and after the show she was given a cake
She took her first bite and savoured the flavour
It was the first ever cake anyone gave her

Munchkin was never allowed to eat carbs
Only bananas, chopped almonds and chard
Mrs herd she made sure that munch would stay thin
She'd say don't eat your food fat dancers don't win

But this cake it awoke a craving inside her
All of those years that Ms Herd had deprived her
As she was eating she started to groan
And the groan it got louder and turned to a moan

And like an explosion of hunger and passion
She ran to the shops in a desperate fashion
And bought all the cakes and treats she could find
And stuffed them all in no crumb left behind

She started to giggle and laugh and then scream
As she stuffed in more cakes that were covered in cream
Munchkin was drooling and without time to think
She turned to the counter and asked for a drink

She guzzled down 3 huge bottles of fizzy
Then munchkin she started to feel very dizzy
She sang as she ate and ate a bit more
Her stomach so full it was touching the floor

It was like inside her a monster awoke
One that was hungry and crazy and spoke
The munchkin that danced was shrinking inside
A new one appeared that no longer could hide

The more that she ate the bigger she got
And bigger and bigger she just didn't stop
Her body was changing and becoming quite hairy
Her moaning and laughing was louder and scary

She grew and she grew and so did the hunger
And moaning so deep it was turning to thunder
She roared then she ran all the way home
Where Ms Herd and her Parents were sitting alone....................................

Now that's sad. Very interestingly told. Seems some parents push their kids too much. On the other hand it does sometimes work.

Somehow reminded me of a Dutch politician, who used to be an olympic athlete, but who's now very uhm... overweight. Perhaps she discovered cake too.
