God's own Angel
By amethyst
25 September 2005
Not a tear did we see you shed
Not a hand did you ever raise
when we were bad
Never no supper before bed
Not uttering a word when you were sad

Not a penny did you spend on yourself
Putting food on the table
Not enough for anything else
A cold house, an empty hearth,
Yet the smile of an angel warmed our hearts

With ten to feed, you held your head high
God knew what he was doing
When he sent you from beyond the sky
An angel that he surely missed
So he took you back and left us to exist
With only memories of a mother so wonderful
So caring not just for us but others as well
All that knew you loved you to and though
The years have flown
Our love for you has never died
If anything it has grown
