Dancing, Dancing triple time
My Love and I
dance away the night,
the village green awash with light
a thousand torches show the way, and
I feel such true delight
to dance with such a
precious one.
a valiant jester I may well be
but no fool am I
when I dance The Galliard. |
Goodness me! Written by Josie (2732 comments posted) 27th December 2007 | | Good gracious! Am I the only one who has noticed Bernie doing Elizabethan triple time dancing after the Christmas festivities? This certainly is dancing from the past isn't it? I see it is a lively, triple-metre court dance of the 16th-17th centuries, often associated with the Pavan I learned to do the Pavan somewhere along life's way. It is a very stately dance and also popular in Elizabethan times. Well written valiant jester! | Written by jillrabbit (57 comments posted) 27th December 2007 | | How romantic! It makes you yearn for times past when life and pleasures were much simpler. | thanks Written by maipenrai (783 comments posted) 27th December 2007 | Josie and Jill for your comments. Bernie | Written by audrie (444 comments posted) 28th December 2007 | I can almost see them bowing and curtseying around the village green. I think, after seeing Cranford, we would all like to go back a bit, when life was slower, kinder and more content. | The Galliard Written by embro (126 comments posted) 28th December 2007 | Nice one, I enjoyed the air of romance. all the best embro | thanks Written by maipenrai (783 comments posted) 29th December 2007 | Audrie, Embro for your comments.
