Loss

Don't be scared to review please. It's all good x

I had a little light
It grew inside my womb
I felt it deep within
But I never gave it room

Something took it back
The light began to fade
I couldn't face the pain
So my biggest wall I made

It wasn't meant be
But loss is hard to bare
I kept it locked within
But now I need to share

The baby that I lost
Was a special part of me
But now I have my faith
I can feel the loss and grieve

hey there,
well, its quite a deep and personal piece this. there's some really nice imagery of the baby as a light. Also there's a nice comparison between the baby inside the womb and the sorrow that you "lock within" The simple verses act as a lullaby and as sad as the story is there's a very warm feeling from it. As if you being able to talk about it creates the hope in the poem.
I liked it a lot and hope everything's ok with you now.

P,
Very touching.
You may be surprised that men can have much (although very probably only a tiny percentage) of the same feelings of loss in these circumstances - although in my own case the circumstances may have been different.
I shall post a very small, tight piece I wrote many years ago.
