Men, unfeeling, have feelings
A Letter, Unposted
To:
Foetus, part-formed,
far too tiny.
"Never knew you the love of your father.
But he knew of you. And denied you."
From:
Male, self-centred;
Far, far too late.

There is nothing like the feeling of acceptance and poetry is so ideal for getting intouch with yourself. Thankyou for posting that x | Written by petetheverse (164 comments posted) 15th January 2008 | Thank you both. I've looked at this over the years and wondered whether it's mawkish - I don't think I've previously proffered it for comment; but it was intended to say a lot. There's a lot of sadness behind your words. I can imagine the great loss of a child, even in its early stages, even though I haven't experienced it. | Written by petetheverse (164 comments posted) 15th January 2008 | J, The inversion was probably for effect; because the 'never' was imposed. This is a piece about the wrongs of abortion. PTV | Written by JininyC (13 comments posted) 18th January 2008 | Nice poem, maybe a little more advanced than I'd normally read, but I'm getting there. Good. P.s On my page, did you mean Dosdoyevsky - Crime and Punishment ?. | Written by audrie (454 comments posted) 24th January 2008 | | I said all I have to say on abortion in my 'Murdering Babies' poem. |
