A really far fetched story I must admit, I would like any kind of feedback on it whatsoever. Thank you. High in the outback of the Scottish Highlands, people are still somewhat behind the times when it comes to technological advancements in the World. Some of the Lochs were large enough to bear the presence of submarine bases. Hidden and well disguised as ancient ruins and castles they actually now existed in the twenty-first century. One was in full operation and its acivities caused quite some disturbance in the local fishing village. A group of Aliens had set up headquarters at an old castle and carried out experiments on their new underwater craft. The craft did not resemble an ordinary submarine in any aspect, thereby creating a stir when the villagers did catch sight of it. It was built in the shape of a fish or rather a sea creature which was common on the Aliens' world. This creature had a long thin neck and there was, what looked like a head, at its end. The contraption had been spied once or twice by some drunken fishermen who thought they were just hallucinating but when they recounted their stories to their friends, it gave rise to what was to become the legend of the 'Loch Ness Monster'. The Aliens little thought they would be attracting so much attention with their excursions and thereby they kept their following trials a little more below the surface, only coming up when the air in the machine got stale and they had to circulate it and get fresh air aboard. Sapphire was weary from the failures they were getting from the machine. What they had planned to do was build this vessel and get it into a good enough condition so that they could delve into the liquid darkness much lower down in the Loch. They were curious to see what creatures made their habitation down that far. They were interested because it meant their survival, if there were more in the same shape as the submarine they travelled in then they would be able to hunt them for food as that was their staple diet on their own planet. Sapphire, the pilot of the vessel, felt her anger levels rise each time they had to rise and show themselves to the villagers on shore. She knew the more they did that, the more attention the vessel would attract and someone would eventually investigate and find where they were hiding. What she did not count on was the amount of attention they would draw to themselves and not just from the locals but from over the Planet. Scientists and zoologists came from all over the World at the first rumour there was a prehistoric animal living in the Loch, "Your Majesty," one of the engineers tried attracting her attention. "What is it, Magenta? More trouble with the engines? When will you ever get them mended? Don't you realize the longer we are exposed above water in this thing, the more likelihood there is of our hideout being discovered? What happens then eh? I ask you what do we do then?" she turned her back on the insgnificant interloper of her thoughts. "But your Majesty, I am afraid the worse may already have happened. There is a boat full 'Human beings' approaching from the far shore. It is nearly always dark over that side and we have not set up a watch to cover that shore because it is. That is why we did not see the boat until it was too late. What shall we do? The life support is working and the engines are half fixed, should we submerge and try to get back to the hideout?" Sapphire tapped her fingers against the back of a chair she was now leaning against before answering. Slowly, thoughtfully she said, "It seems that is the most suitable solution. We definitely can not remain here and be found out that's for sure. Let it be so." The monster submerged once more, this time to the disgruntlement of those in the boat that was heading in its direction. "Ye know Jock, I would swear that creature has the sight of the devil in it. The way it is already submerging and all. Ye would a thought it had eyes in the back o' its head." "You're right there Sean, I would swear it could see directly behind it. Oh well we had better return to shore, no point in staying out here when there's nothing to see." They began to paddle back the way they came. The ship descended too fast this time and the life support system did not adjust fast enough to compensate so all aboard perished and that was the last time the Loch Ness monster was ever spotted for real. There were plenty of sightings after but most of them turned out to be lumps of driftwood or just cloud shadow and so the legend died a slow death.
