MIDNIGHT STROLL
Melancholy drizzles down
from mists around the moon;
regret greets pangs of
solitude; no humans
hear unspoken questions;
but owls, vociferous
with wisdom, understand.

Rather different from the others you posted. | Written by margarita (28 comments posted) 30th January 2008 | I like this too....maybe a little melodramatic for my taste but the meaning and rhythm is excellent. Is there a hint to insomnia here..or a want to be alone? Good work! | Written by Josie (2496 comments posted) 20th June 2008 | | You are quite right. Melancholy does seem to drip down from mists around the moon. How different to opening your door, as I've just done, to find the sun shining on a sunny garden. Perhaps this is why the moon is associated with mystery, black magic and witchcraft. How well you put this. What questions do you specifically think may be unspoken? We have many vociferous owls who live here and I hear their calls close by and then fading as they fly around our town every evening. I'm afraid that they are looking for ducklings on the lake behind our house. |
