This are the pictures taken through my heart of a better world than those i have seen.
I wish that wars will not be fought among humans,
but among evil spirits that dwell in nightmares.
I wish that diseases will not kill us,
but will purge humanity of hatred.
I wish that poverty will not trobule us,
but will eradicate anything that disturbs the human race.
I wish that people can destroy all these tall walls,
so that love and his allies can dwell in us all.
I wish we would not never shed tears except the tears of joy.
I wish no more than to love because that is how i can change the world.

I am Written by audrie (451 comments posted) 30th January 2008 | sure everyone would agree with your sentiments, Warchild. Who knows if we all give out enough love, maybe it will go around the globe. I don't know why mankind is so destructive, but it seems to be inherent in the human psyche. | Written by DressedInPoetry (23 comments posted) 30th January 2008 | | I agree wtih Audrie; I think everyone wishes this within their souls. I like your last statement, because love is the way that one person can make a difference. | Hi Warchild Written by maipenrai (783 comments posted) 31st January 2008 | The sentiments you express in this are I think the one's that most people hold. Sad to say it will never be that way, violence, killing, war etc it's part of our nature, always as been, always will be. Bernie | Hi Written by maipenrai (783 comments posted) 31st January 2008 | | again, just a little aside, did you know there is an Aid Org in the UK called Warchild. | Banal at best.. Written by gerardconnolly (1186 comments posted) 1st February 2008 | In the days of the late unlamented 'Miss World' show, there used to be a point in the proceedings when the feather brained contestants were asked ' What is your ambition?' The predictable reply was then trotted out :'To make the world a better place'. Or; ' To help sick and deprived children 'etc..... The outcome was to have the more cognizant human beings watching reaching for the sick bag. Sadly the sentiments of your soi disant poem have pretty much the same effect on me. I don't doubt you are sincere in what you wish. I just wish you would wish for it in a little more original and a great deal less banal fashion. Slan! |
