Death of a Singer
By maipenrai

not a "proper poem", just a small tribute.

John Stewart died recently
not a name that is famous in the UK,
John was a man who loved his country,
loved the people of his country
you can see that in his songs,
he wrote about ordinary people
his words heatfelt and sincere,
his most famous work?
"Daydream Believer"

RIP John Stewart.

Don't know the man, but I think you gave him a worthy tribute.

Never heard of the Guy, but after a quick Google, know many of his songs. Just downloaded the chords to Daydream Believer and sang along with some dodgy guitar playing. Shame. Nice to write a tribute.

Phil.
Thanks

Phil, he was one of my favourite singer/ songwriters, got a lot if not most of his work on cd's.

I have always thought that the people who write the lyrics and the songs should get much better recognition than the groups who sign them.

Lovely tribute, well earned.
