The second of three poems written this week (my first in ten years!) I feel confident I have more to come!

I am full

of emptiness

all form

no substance

My talent wasted

I am number 13

of 100,000

I am 0.9%

of the 90

the invisible

now visible

a magic act

in 3 parts

the Greek say

I lack desire

but I say I

desire too much

and if beauty

lies within then

I am pure

untouched

unsoiled

immaculate

I would have

been a better

candidate for

the role of Eve.

Emptiness is the ultimate form of purity. A sad truth, no?
13 is a good number. But anyway, I really liked this one.
It's sad but you seem upbeat and proud in your introduction, so I would glean that it has an underlying positive message. I could be wrong.
True beauty is on the inside, each person starts as an empty slate, pure.

Thank you for your review. To contextualise this poem - it is about anorexia nervosa....so I'd be interested to know how you re-read it now, and how, if at all, your percptions of it have changed. I would welcome any further comments. BW Elly
