Esse Quam Videri

Esse quam videri: is rather than seems to be

Red at the corner of my lip

Red falling to the white floor

Red stain on my mind’s eye

Spiral to the outer rim

Shake the tree for forbidden fruit

Eat it up, bite my tongue

Spiral to the garden wall

Fall down the canyon trail

Drown in the endless river

Forever and ever

Red in the corner of my eye

Red tear down my long face

Red staining my white mind

These roses are me

These verses from my veins

Tie me to the ground
