Out of Focus

Encased in metal and glass
I unheedingly pass
The wonders outside my air-conned cocoon.
Trapped and wrapped,
My tumultuous thoughts
Are geared towards an arrival soon.
Meadows and streams are ignored
While my dreams of reward
Spiral unchecked.

Turn taken in a dream-daze
Now reveals to amaze
Sight before unseen, a cathedral green.
Over my head
Verdant vaulted ceiling
Unfurling, lavish and sun stippled.
My spirit rises and soars
As tranquillity pours
Into my soul.

Lovely piece. I love Gerard Manley-Hopkins work, I sense an influence.

:) Thanks. I hadn't noticed the influence while writing but reading it again I am pleased to see it there
