Sarcasm

(a combination of the Greek words 'flesh' and biting')

You said you loved my sarcasm.

Does that mean when my

caustic yet urbanely witty

incisors tear into your

tender egoflesh ripping

your machismo

limb from limb

you hope I come

back for seconds?

I didn't think so.

Funny and provoking- I liked it. Not sure if the final line was necessary- you've already left us bleeding.

I liked this, especially the pun 'for seconds'.

Liked it very much. Witty and direct.

I wouldn't lose the final line if I were you. It's part of the structure that makes the poem satisfying - the poem starts with a banal, everyday statement, skates off into this bloody image and then comes back to the everyday world with that offhand jibe at the end.

Magnificent! If you want it published, try sending it to Monkey Kettle (submission guidelines at www.monkeykettle.co.uk) - I strongly suspect they'll love it!

I love playing with language; I supposedly study latin and greek and I get so excited about pieces like this, it's wicked!

looks oh-so-publishable as amby said
