Universal feeling of angst and division. Between halves of oneself, or a relationship.

I have been throwing these darts for a long while,
Each one hits the target and pops
Out the others.
Lodged so grotesquely
In the eyes and in the forehead
Of the picture.
I see the blood run down the wall.
Pooling on the floor.
Beside me as I weep.
Oh why so morbid?
I’m so candid.

And I haven’t lost you yet;
No, I haven’t left you behind.
I have been throwing these darts for a long while,
Each one hits the board and dislodges the others,
Like I’m lost inside,
And just like you,
I’ve been left beside.

And this picture is your heart,
I’m crushing in my hand,
And wishing you knew why I did it,
Knew where I hid it.
And I haven’t lost you yet;
No, I haven’t left you behind.

I have run out of darts
And I sit on the floor,
And there you are, asleep,
And I don’t know if you will wake up.
