Over two years ago now, a fifteen year old boy in Wales committed suicide by lying in front of a train. It was suspected he'd been bullied over his sexuality. The story broke my heart. This is for him.

I think I can understand your mind
A train passes by
And it only reminds me of you
The cruelties they gave
When you only wanted to live
And to love as everyone has the right to
But they slowly killed you
Stabbed you with every taunt
Just because of who you were
And the beautiful person you wanted to be
Why do people hold so much hate?
When they can be like us and love
But they don’t understand our minds
And people, they’ll turn blind
To the ones who did this to you
Just because you were different.
But I read your story
And I felt your pain
Because in many ways we are the same
And one day after I’ve closed my eyes
I’ll shake your hand.
Only fifteen when you took your life
Still a child as they pushed you onto the track
But no longer are you oppressed
No longer do you need to suffer
You're with Jesus now
And you shall live forever

Such a sad story. People can be cruel and judge others without knowing the facts. Jesus said, 'You who are without sin, cast the first stone,' and not one stone was hurled. I hope I learn not to cast stones and knock myself with one instead. Thanks for sharing this sad story. It really breaks my heart. You've brought the judgment finger to rest.

A very sad story - and one that deserves attention.

A simple tribute (if a little simplistic at times) that serves its intended purpose.
