Vanilla flavoured sky
By Blade
28 March 2005
This poem was originally written in Polish. Nevertheless I tried keeping the rhymes and sense with the translation. It's a tale of a man unappreciated in the pursuit of his own, better world.

„Vanilla flavoured sky"

I've been where the sky has vanilla flavour,
Where is no need to say: "I am sorry",
Where grass is wet with lemonade downpour
And you can live without any worries.

I've been where death is without meaning,
Where is no evil, satan has no entrance,
Where you can always be proud of your living
With no fear, no hatred and no need for vengeance.

The place where time has stopped it's flow forever,
Old carriages roll through forest roads,
A better world that you could never
Want to leave, the realm of stories still untold.

I've been there, I've been really! But here I am again.
They took me, threw in here against my endeavour
Where to the rampants and window bars I whisper:
‘I've been where the sky has vanilla flavour'.

Beautiful image of vanilla sky and lemonade rain.
Tied up nicely at the end with the repeat of the first line.

a very nice fairy tale childhood feel to the poem . very refreshing. I think you could have made the point about satan stronger. Satan, in the biblical world or otherwise is a strong concept and can make a good revolting contrast to "Vanilla Flavoured Sky". well Done !!
