I sometimes wish you weren't

The poem says it allSmile

It's been two years.
It feels like forever.
It feels like last week.
I lost all sense of time when you left
When I started my life
without you
But I guess that's a good thing.
It would have been unbearable if I knew and felt how long it's been
How long I've missed you
How many days I've been thinking about you
How many days I've lived
without you

It's been two years.
So my good sense tells me
My heart is not so sure
It's aching
for you
Somehow I can't get over you
Somehow, even when you're not here. You are
You're my reason
You always were
Maybe that's why
I need a reason
We all do
You saw me
Even when I tried so hard not to be seen
I need you
So much it hurts
Where are you?
Why aren't you here?
Why are you?
Sometimes I wish you weren't

It may be just me but I've read so much of this kind of poetry that it makes no impact any more. This one read like a list, not a poem. Sorry.

I'm trying people to join our workshop in Poets' Forum, in order to learn about meter, and all the techniques which the great poets used to express themselves so wonderfully. Your poem is like so many on this website, I'm afraid, because it lacks structure. Why not get the book I've recommended and join us in our workshops, to really improve your work? I'm not getting at you particularly, but I feel that any writing which lacks the basic forms of poetry ought to be in the prose section. We have such a wonderful language to work with that it's a shame we don't make full use of it in our poetry writing.
