Time Passes
By emmahazel
11 March 2008
This is a follow up to my other poem: I sometimes wish you weren't
I wrote these resently even though they're about something that happened two years ago. A heart break but thats clear I guess. Still haven't gotten over it but I really loved him so. Hope you enjoy them because they come from the heart.

Time passes
I don't feel it but I see it
in the changes of the world
Suddenly the sun shines
Lights up the world and makes everything a little bit better, happier
The sky is blue like that day in June
and filled with puffy white fairytale clouds
Those who told us stories of adventure when passing from horizon to horizon
back when life was Less complicated
Trees are turning green
flowers in every color rise from the once frozen ground

It's the season of beginning
of love
I don't feel it
I don't feel anything
No pain or anger
No guilt or remorse
No happiness or joy
My heart is missing

I keep myself busy
So I have no time to think
It's all I have left
And I avoid it
Because of you
I wear myself out
I make myself tired
so I fall a sleep the moment my head touches my pillow
No thoughts to keep me awake
No thoughts of you
I can't bear it

Still time passes
I don't feel it
But I see it

Great poem. Its very powerful, you can certainly tell it comes straight from the heart. I like the way you describe the changing seasons yet show clearly that despite the change outside, inside there is little change. Still the pain, the emptiness. The struggle to move on with life.
Very sad, emotional poem. Doesn't need any changing, its pretty much perfect

effectively written makes the reader want to reach out with open arms...wouldn't change a thing. Very sad, one day you will want to open your eyes and heart once more; life is short, don't let it pass you by....if you overfill you might miss something obvious and cut out others who mean much too in the process without even realising so...Wishing some hope your way again....
