The fighting has ceased, But if you lay back and wait, The peace will be cold. Without drops of rain Flowers shall not come to bloom, But shrivel and die. It's a vain message, Sent to one who does not read. Just a waste of ink. |

Written by mia_ms_kim (1057 comments posted) 12th March 2008 | I can see the attraction of haiku. Short, easy to read, but poignant. Gives me so many questions again. I keep thinking your poems sound a little oriental. Maybe I'm reading into them. I know you read ancient oriental writings. I love this poem, too. Like wisdom written in short ancient poems. Now I feel like looking them up myself. I liked the first one best. | Written by Diddi (87 comments posted) 13th March 2008 | I liked these, I know nothing about Haiku, except that they are 3,5 or 7 lines, with 17 syllables. I understand that the ideal for the Haiku is one single thought. so I had a go, "Vision." I'm wondering how you were able to incorporate a few extra words so successfully. When I read a definition of Haiku, the translation was "amusement verse." This is a very interesting form, I may try a couple more. I'm not a poet, but I do love to paint with words. | Written by Fledermaus (3603 comments posted) 13th March 2008 | Thanks Mia, Audrie, Jean and Diddi. It's funny that these haikus are more the result of inspiration than concentration. Catharsis I guess. Glad you all enjoyed reading them.
