My Clock
By Rattle_Spear
22 October 2005
Reflecting on my past. To my faithful Boo

My clock has no movements.
It was built by Father Time.
It never has to be adjusted.
The time is correct every time.
It knows when it's winter, summer, autumn and spring.
It allows nature to change colour, and every other thing.
My clock does not need a service.
My clock does not need a spring.
My clock is always punctual,
It knows when to chime and ting.

There is not price tag on my clock.
No batteries to keep the wheels and movements going.
When it is time for my clock to stop;
Only God will know!
So, cherish your clock without abuse.
It is only your own life you have to lose!

I like this but it is hard to read in the format it is in. Any chance of making it a bit easier?

Assume 'Boo' is meant to be 'But' - or am I missing something?

I like to read this again if you re-format it.

I don't like to be critical of other people's work because mine's not perfect by any means, but I wrote a poem about our clock, and perhaps I can say this to you for this reason. A clock has such a deep sense of rhythm. I feel that you need to have a steady rhythm, without any breaks in rhythm and rhyme - and especially not in the length of the line, for a pendulum goes its exact course for each beat. I haven't put my poem on this website, but it is on my own website, and it's called "Just Listen to That Rhythm". Try your poem again with the good rhythm in it. It would be lovely because you have all the right words - just the rhythm is not there. It has to be perfect for the tick-tock of a clock.

Thanks for your observations.
I am sure that your clock is faultless.
My Clock relates to the "heart" body soul and mind of a human being. None of us remain perfect.
